Directory Brute-forcing is a great way to expand your known attack surface of a website. Its also a great way to get rate limited!
Pictured (left) is a common usage of Dirbuster with a pre-installed wordlist.Â
Since each attempt tries to connect to the target server, directory brute-forcing has a very recognizable footprint in Wireshark.
