Lastly, I used Metasploit to check if exploits were already developed for this model.

Using the search function I typed in "netgear" and found a password extractor.

After selecting this exploit, I used the options command to check the requirements to run the exploit.

I entered the IP address of the router ----------------------->

The exploit ran successfully and I obtained the admin credentials to the router ( it was on default credentials ).
